Свобода собраний и свобода слова — цель устойчивого развития

Мы считаем, что свобода выражения мнений и доступ к независимым медиа крайне важны для развития демократии и экономики. Свобода слова и СМИ является как самоцелью, так и средством для развития человеческого потенциала.

Поэтому мы, нижеподписавшиеся, призываем Открытую рабочую группу целиком включить рекомендации в области управления, которые содержатся в докладе ооновской Группы видных деятелей высокого уровня («Новое глобальное партнёрство: искоренение бедности и преобразование экономик посредством устойчивого развития»), в предлагаемые цели устойчивого развития на период после 2015 года, в частности следующие её рекомендации:

• выделить как самостоятельную цель «качественное управление и эффективные институты власти»;

• в качестве компонентов этой цели включить «обеспечение людей пользованием свободой слова, собраний, мирных протестов и доступом к независимым СМИ и информации» и «реализацию общественного права на доступ к информации и данным органов государственной власти».
